b. 1923. Was from 1966-1997 the holder of the A. Barton Hepburn Professorship (created 1919) at Princeton. Developed the chemotherapy drug pemetrexed (brand name Alimta). As of 2009, royalties for this drug paid to Princeton University were sufficient to completely finance a state-of-the-art 263,000-square-foot (24,400 m2) chemistry laboratory building. Ted has completed 180 PhD students.
