Haymo Ross, PhD (Editor): Haymo Ross studied chemistry at the Technical University of Braunschweig and the University of Kiel where he received a doctoral degree in organic chemistry in 1997. In the same year, he joined Wiley-VCH as a member of the Angewandte Chemie editorial team. From 2000 to 2017 he was a Deputy Editor of Angewandte Chemie and from 2003 to 2017 he was the Editor-in-Chief of the European Journal of Organic Chemistry (EurJOC). He joined Chemistry-A European Journal as Neville Compton's successor in October 2017.

Anne C. Deveson, PhD (Deputy Editor): Anne Deveson obtained her BSc in Chemistry from the University of East Anglia (UEA) in 1991. She went on to do a PhD in the field of bioinorganic chemistry under the supervision of Annie Powell, also at UEA. In 1995 she moved to Germany to do postdoctoral research on copper–chalcogenide clusters in the group of Diester Fenske at the Universität Karlsruhe. In October 1997 she joined Wiley-VCH as part of the editorial team for Chemistry—A European Journal. She is also the Editor of ChemistrySelect.

Elisabeth von Roedern, PhD (Deputy Editor): Elisabeth von Roedern studied Chemistry at Iowa State University, Ames (USA) from 1985-1986. She then went to the Technische Universität München (Germany), where she studied Chemistry and obtained her PhD under the supervision of Horst Kessler in 1998, having worked on the synthesis and structural elucidation of sugar amino acids as peptidomimetics and their incorporation into cyclic peptides. She joined Chemistry—A European Journal in April 1999.

Lobat Doostdar, PhD (Senior Associate Editor) obtained her PhD from the University of Edinburgh, and has been at Wiley-VCH since 2003 where she worked at ChemBioChem until 2010. She joined Chemistry—A European Journal in 2011.

Ganna Lyashenko, PhD (Senior Associate Editor) studied chemistry at the National Taras Shevchenko University (Kiev, Ukraine) and obtained her PhD in bioinorganic chemistry in 2008 from the Karl-Franzens-Universität Graz (Austria) under the guidance of Nadia C. Mösch-Zanetti. Subsequently, she undertook postdoctoral research with Russ Hille at the University of California in Riverside. She joined the team in August 2011.

Francesca R. Novara, PhD (Senior Associate Editor) studied chemistry at the University of Rome "La Sapienza" (Italy), and graduated in 2004 under the supervision of Maurizio Speranza. She obtained her PhD in 2010 from the Technische Universität Berlin under the supervision of Helmut Schwarz, working on enantioselective reactions in the gas phase. She joined Wiley-VCH in 2010 and Chemistry–A European Journal in February 2011.

Yan Li (Senior Associate Editor): Yan Li obtained his BSc from Tianjin University and PhD from Tsinghua University. He subsequently carried out postdoctoral studies at University of Houston and then at Wageningen University. He started working for Wiley-VCH materials journals including Small and Advanced Functional Materials in 2012 and joined the team of Chemistry A European Journal in February 2018.

coming soonShaun Scally, PhD (Associate Editor) Shaun Scally obtained his PhD in Environmental Chemistry from Lancaster University (UK) in 2005, working on metal complexation and dissociation kinetics in fresh water systems, under the supervision of William Davison and Hao Zhang. After working at Queen's University, Belfast, and the University of East Anglia, he moved to Germany in 2011 and joined Wiley-VCH in 2014 as assistant editor for Chemistry—A European Journal.

Pamela Alsabeh, PhD (Associate Editor): Pamela Alsabeh received her PhD in chemistry from Dalhousie University (Halifax, Canada) in 2013, working on transition-metal-catalyzed reactions, under the supervision of Mark Stradiotto. After completing a two-year Humboldt postdoctoral stay with Matthias Beller at the Leibniz Institute for Catalysis (LIKAT Rostock), Pamela moved to Weinheim and joined the Wiley-VCH team in 2016 as an Assistant Editor for Chemistry—A European Journal.

Stuart Beardsworth (Associate Editor): Stuart completed his MChem degree at the University of Leicester (UK) in 2012 before undertaking graduate studies at the Universität Stuttgart (Germany) under the supervision of Sabine Laschat, during which he worked on fluorescent and liquid-crystalline materials. He joined the team in May 2016.

Joseph Unsay (Associate Editor): Joseph Unsay obtained his BSc (2007) and MSc (2011) in Chemistry from the Ateneo de Manila University (Philippines). During his MSc, he also worked at the same University teaching undergraduate Chemistry courses and getting involved on Analytical Chemistry, Natural Products, and Biochemistry projects under Fabian Dayrit. In 2011, he went on to start his PhD at the German Cancer Research Center (DKFZ) in Heidelberg, Germany working with Ana J. Garcia-Saez on characterizing membranes and membrane proteins using advanced microscopy and biophysical techniques. He later moved with his supervisor to the University of Tübingen, where he eventually finished his PhD in Biochemistry in 2016. Joseph joined Wiley-VCH on December 2016 as an Assistant Editor for Chemistry—A European Journal.

Robert Hughes (Associate Editor): Robert W. Hughes, PhD (Assistant Editor): Robert Hughes obtained his PhD from the University of Southampton working with Mark Weller on transition metal framework materials. He then spent five years at Glasgow University as a WestCHEM Research Fellow in the non-oxide materials group before moving to America as a Visiting Researcher in the Materials Science and Engineering department of UIUC. He joined Wiley-VCH in 2016 as an Assistant Editor for Chemistry—A European Journal.

Bianca Davidson, (Editorial Assistant): Bianca Davidson completed her studies with a Master's degree in Tourism/Business Management in 2001. She started working for Angewandte Chemie in 2002. Since then she has worked for various journals at Wiley-VCH, such as EurJIC/EurJOC, ChemPhysChem, ChemBioChem, and Chemistry—A European Journal, in order to facilitate the introduction of manuscriptXpress. She has been working as an Editorial Assistant for Small, Chemistry—A European Journal, and ChemBioChem since June 2004.

Denis Ott (Production Mgr): Denis Ott joined Wiley-VCH as a trainee in 2004. Since the summer of 2006, he has worked as a production manager for Chemistry—A European Journal. He is also responsible for the production of the European Journal of Inorganic Chemistry and the European Journal of Organic Chemistry.

Carola Goldenstein, (Secretary) Carola joined Wiley-VCH in 2002 as an Assistant for EurJIC/EurJOC. In January 2013, she transfered to Chemistry—A European Journal as an Editorial Assistant and she supports the copyediting.

Luisa Prieto (Secretary): Luisa completed her training as a foreign-language secretary (English and French) in 1997, and worked for Freudenberg from 1998 to 2004. In May 2004, she joined Wiley-VCH as a member of the Angewandte Chemie team. After 1.5 years of maternity leave, she has worked part time with Chemistry—A European Journal and ChemMedChem since October 2006.

Mario Müller, PhD (Senior Web Editor): Mario Müller earned his degree and PhD in (Physical) Chemistry from the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB), where he worked on chirality-induced and electro-optic effects in discotic liquid crystals under the guidance of Gerd Heppke. He won the International Liquid Crystal Society's first Multimedia Award in 1998. In 2000, he worked in a government-funded multimedia and e-learning project ("Vernetztes Studium") with Dieter Ziessow (TUB) before joining Wiley-VCH as Angewandte Chemie's Web Editor. His duties now include the homepages of all journals in the chemistry group.
