The healthcare industry differs in many respects from traditional industry sectors.
On the one hand, because the product is the sensitive area of health. On the
other hand, because the healthcare industry is a strongly regulated market with
specific remuneration models. Traditional operating and process concepts can
therefore only be implemented to a limited extent in healthcare.
For sure healthcare is not the only industry that needs to find a proper and successful
way into the digital future. But compared to other branches healthcare
lags behind when it comes to digitalization – not only a few month but ages. As
we are optimists we are convinced that this is no obstacle or blemish but a unique
advantage. Instead of reinventing the wheel healthcare has the chance to cover
proofed concepts from other branches and adapt them to the specific requirements
of the healthcare sector.
For example, the concept of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), which is an
essential component of the digitization strategy in industrial companies. Appropriate
IT systems today are essential parts of companies’ IT infrastructure.
