In the previous chapters we explained what healthcare content management
means and how an HCM system makes working with medical data easier,
faster and more effective. If you can’t wait to implement your own HCM
system, you’ll inevitably encounter the question: where do I start and how
do I proceed? This chapter provides the answer, so you’ll have to have a little
more patience.
All Beginnings Are Hard? Not Necessarily
We don’t want to put the brakes on your euphoria, but we are committed to
honesty:
an HCM system is as central a system as the HIS is. The effort for a complete
introduction is substantial. The good news is that you don’t have to do everything
at once. In fact, it is preferable to start with a practical use case – ideally one
that users are currently dissatisfied with. This will ensure the employee’s approval
right from the start, and you will need it.
